This is not so much a cookery programme as a reality show. It is interesting to see how people view food as an event and how that event comes to fruition. But the food becomes less important than the personalities. Far more air time is spent with the guests discussing each other's behaviour than it is on the meal itself.
Each of the five contestants takes a turn to host their own dinner party and each votes on the efforts of their competitors. Votes tend to be based more on the party atmosphere of the evening than on the quality of the courses.
We do get to hear some recipe ideas but more as a general commentary than as notes to follow. The recipes are supposedly available on line but I had trouble locating more than a handful of them.
This is not one of the better cookery programmes on television. It plays up the sensational or inappropriate behaviour of the guests at the expense of the menus.
It may give a few viewers some inspiration but it is unlikely to tempt many into the kitchen who would not otherwise find themselves there.
